On the Emilia cooktops, they have added a stylish stainless steel front frame. This not only looks good it protects the leading edge of the cooktop. Emilia doesnt believe any ceramic or induction cooktop should be without it. By leaving the other edges without a frame makes the wiping down and care of the cooktop so much simpler.
