Yangarra Estate Vineyard PF McLaren Vale Shiraz 2022 is a vibrant, minimal-intervention expression of McLaren Vale, shaped by a slightly cooler growing season that delivered balance, freshness and natural intensity. Favourable winter rains and a mild flowering period led into a long, cool ripening window from late January through to March, producing fruit with impressive purity and well-defined acidity.Picked and carefully sorted before open fermentation, the wine underwent wild fermentation with 12 days on skins before being pressed to tank and matured for five months in stainless steel. True to the “PF” philosophy, no additions were used throughout production, allowing the vineyard and season to speak clearly in the glass.The aromatics are lifted and vibrant, revealing ripe plum, black cherry, raspberry and boysenberry layered with black pepper, subtle florals and a hint of anise. On the palate, it is expressive and beautifully balanced, showcasing juicy red and dark fruit, savoury spice and a gentle lift of freshness from a small co-ferment of Viognier. The texture is smooth and almost succulent, with richness carried by natural acidity and a clean, energetic finish.This acclaimed release has been awarded 92 points by Nick Stock for James Suckling, 91 points by Shanteh Wale (Wine Pilot) and 90 points by Campbell Mattinson (The Wine Front).
