It's tough work being a frog when your home is among the lilies, weed, reeds and timber where barramundi, Murray cod and other surface feeding predators reside, cruise and hunt. That quick dip in a pocket in the weed or short paddle from one weed bed to another could attract some unwanted attention, triggering an explosion of water as a fish rises from beneath, shattering the serenity and dragging you under the water... leaving the ripples to disappear and the serenity to return.

If that frog happens to be tied onto your line it's a different story as you set the hook, the rod buckles and the fish works hard against the drag in an attempt to bury you back into the structure from which it came. Welcome to frog fishing.
