Mt. Fuji Distillery was founded and commissioned in 1973. While many Japanese distilleries adopted Scotland's whisky production methods, Fuji drew inspiration from whisky-producing countries around the globe.
Nestled 2,034 feet above sea level, the distillery's unique location, along with its temperature and altitude, plays a pivotal role in shaping the final product, resulting in distinctive flavors in its single grain whiskey.
Fuji Distillery uses pristine water sourced directly from Mt. Fuji, which flows through a 50-year natural purification process before reaching the distillery. This water, crystal clear and exceptionally pure, is used throughout the production process.
FUJI SINGLE BLENDED WHISKY
Fuji Single Blended Whisky represents Fuji Gotemba's dedication to crafting distinctive whisky. This blend combines malt whisky with three types of grain whisky—corn, rye, and malted barley—distilled on-site at Fuji Gotemba. Master Blender Jota Tanaka utilizes a mix of doubler, column, kettle, and pot stills to create flavor profiles reminiscent of Scotch, American, and Canadian whiskies. Unlike most distilleries, Fuji handles the entire production process, from mashing to bottling, all at their facility.
