The expression of fruit from this vineyard pairs impeccably with the growing conditions observed in 2022; fine boned and powerful all at the same time. Grapes for this limited volume shiraz come from the volcanic soils of our easterly facing Fordwich Hill vineyard.

Wild fermentation helps increase the aromatic profile and the suede-like tannins play an important supportive role. Minimal use of new oak (<20%) and predominantly large format French oak barrels (500L) make this a wine of great complexity and vitality.

The 2022 Fordwich Hill Shiraz pairs excellently with dishes such as dry-aged Wagyu beef, potato gratin, and B arnaise sauce.
