Overview
The Sky-Watcher 102/500 AZ5 is a 102mm Achromatic Refractor Telescope with a short focal length of 500mm. Its significantly shorter tube, compared to other telescopes in the same class, provides a broader field of view with standard eyepieces. The compact length of the telescope adds convenience for packing and storage when not in use or during transit.
Features
Premium Astronomy and Terrestrial Observation
The Sky-Watcher 102/500 refractor telescope is a reliable performer, offering impressive views of comets, star fields, star clusters, nebulae, bright galaxies, planets, the Moon, and the Sun (with proper safety filtering). Paired with the robust and user-friendly AZ5 alt-azimuth mount, it ensures excellent stability and precise control. The mount features fine tracking adjustment knobs for both the horizontal (azimuth) and vertical (altitude) axes. The Sky-Watcher 102/500 AZ5 telescope is versatile, serving as a daytime terrestrial telescope as well.
The Refractor Advantage
The classic quality of images viewed through a refractor telescope sets it apart from other telescope designs. Thanks to the absence of mirrors in its optical system, a refractor delivers generally sharper images. Additionally, the lack of a secondary mirror shadow enhances the viewing experience. When equipped with the included 45o erecting image diagonal, the refractor telescope is well-suited for terrestrial observation.
