As most general purpose zooms have an upper end focal length of 55mm, the EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM picks up at just the right place, with a focal length range that reaches from 55mm to 250mm. One of the standout features on this lens is a Stepping Motor driven autofocus, which is beautifully smooth, fast and silent. This makes it a great choice for both stills and video, especially if you're using Movie Servo continuous AF mode.
