Sharing its photo specifications with the EOS R5, the EOS R5 C incorporates additional professional video features, creating a high-performance workhorse capable of capturing high-quality 45MP images, as well as shooting up to 8K 60p video.

8K 60p Video Recording

The EOS R5 C is the first Cinema EOS System camera to provide internal 8K 60p recording. This allows for highly flexible workflow, such as 4K cropping from 8K footage without losing quality. The R5 C can also record 8K in the versatile MP4 format and allow for lighter proxy video recording in 8K for more efficient editing and previewing.

Combining the photo performance of the EOS R5 and the video performance of a Cinema EOS camera, the EOS R5 C includes many additional video features to allow for a better user experience. A new timecode terminal, a wider selection of recording format options and an expanded video interface brings new life to the 5 series camera.

45 Megapixel Resolution & DIGIC X Processor

At the heart of the EOS R5 C is an all-new 45-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor that delivers previously unheard-of levels of image quality. Detail and clarity are simply stunning, as is colour reproduction, tonal gradation and dynamic range. The new sensor operates with a maximum sensitivity of ISO 51,200 so you can take advantage of the EOS R5 C's sensational image quality even in low-light conditions.

A custom-designed DIGIC X image processor takes data from the camera's sensor and produces image files of exceptional quality. Digital noise is kept to a minimum - not just at high ISO settings but all sensitivities. Sharpness is improved with an all-new clarity adjustment, and extra dynamic range is available, thanks to an improved Auto Lighting Optimizer (ALO) and Highlight Tone Priority+ technology.

Dual Card Slot

1x CFexpress Card (Type B) and 1x SD Card. The CFexpress card supports high-speed transfer, allowing the camera to perform continuous shooting of 45-megapixel still images at up to 20 fps, and internal recording of 8K RAW movies.

The R5 C has adopted a newly developed, heat-dissipating design with a built-in cooling fan system that keeps the internal temperature from rising, along with airflow separate from the mainboard. Dramatic improvement of the thermal design achieves long hours of extended recording, even in high-quality 8K 60p video.

High-resolution VR images and video can be shot by attaching the Canon RF 5.2mm F2.8 L Dual Fisheye, a stereoscopic RF mount fisheye lens designed for VR movie shooting, to the R5 C.
