Sony Music Wholesale Death In The Family Small Town Stories Cd
Despite extensive international touring and a burgeoning profile, Melbourne band A Death In The Family had to look no further than their own backyard to find inspiration for their new album, Small Town Stories. The result is a punk rock record that is deeply rooted in the Australian experience; sparkling with character and vivid insight.
Recorded by Samuel Johnson at Three Phase Studios in Melbourne (with additional instruments recorded at The Arthouse Studio), Small Town Stories is a profoundly inspiring and moving punk rock record. Mixed by revered indie-rock musician/producer J. Robbins (Against Me!, Texas is the Reason, Jawbreaker) in Baltimore and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side in New York, the album is the band s most sonically striking to date.
Lyrically, Small Town Stories focuses on the shared experiences of the band members growing up in smaller communities in Australia. By turns intriguing and heartbreaking, the record touches on everyday experiences, but imbues them with a universal significance so that anyone, no matter where they live, can relate to it. This theme is underlined by a more measured and dynamic musical delivery, which serves to enhance the overall depth of the material.
Having recently re-issued A Death in the Family s debut album This Microscopic War on vinyl, Resist Records is proud to present Small Town Stories, one of the most stirring and honest Australian punk rock records you'll hear this year.
