Linkwood 10 Year Old 2013 Oloroso Sherry Casks Cadenhead's Original Collection Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml

Matured in Oloroso casks. Two final years resting in Oloroso casks has given this spirit sweet, fruity notes of blackcurrant jam, marzipan and apricots.

Linkwood Distillery, situated on the outskirts of the small Moray town of Elgin, was established back in 1821 by Peter Brown. As Peter aged, and eventually passed away, the Brown family operated, developed and expanded the distillery in the late 1800s before being brought to the stock exchange. The 1900s proved to be an extremely variable time for the distillery, with even greater expansion and changes in ownership briefly interrupted by short periods of closure. In 2012, it was upgraded again with capacity now reaching 5.5m litres per year.

Today, the distillery is known for its light, floral spirit with a strong springtime character.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Blackcurrant, raspberry, cherry, date syrup, buttered gingerbread, treacle.

Flavour: Madagascan cola, juicy prunes, battenburg cake, Danish pastry, blackcurrant jam.

Finish: Figs, apricots and continued marzipan and almonds.
