Paul John Select Cask Px Pedro Ximenez Single Malt Indian Whisky 700ml

Hailing from the tropical shores of Goa, this exotic Indian single malt, in rich shades of dark copper, has complex aromas of fig and apricot with a rare hint of banana. On the palate are tremendous flavours of sweet barley with creamy butterscotch, dry fruits and a profuse Christmas cake. The finish is long and exquisite, with delectable chocolate fudge, delicate orange peel and hints of exotic wine drenched nuts. Much of the intrinsic characteristics of the Paul John PX owes allegiance to the famed intensely sweet and dark Spanish dessert sherry, having been gloriously finished in handpicked Pedro Ximenez casks.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Marmalade on toast, mocha, stewed plums and a kick of peppercorn.

Taste: Espresso, raisins, sultanas, apricot, chocolate mousse and perhaps a touch of mint chocolate too.

Finish: Lasting festive spices and chocolate peanuts.

"The nose is reminiscent of plum jam spread on toasted multigrain bread. The palate is rich and roasty with a rich, full-bodied consistency. Flavors of grape jam, dried dates (sultanas), mixed cocktail nuts, baking spices, and toffee are capped off by a hint of musty oak (the good kind associated with fine, mature wine that's been kept in a temperature-controlled cellar).
