This addition to our collection is a testament to the art of cask finishing, delivering a rich, tropical complexity unlike any other.
A longer journey, makes a sweeter finish; matured for 12 years in traditional whisky casks, this single malt first develops The Balvenie s signature notes of warm honey and smooth vanilla. It is then finished in bespoke rum-seasoned casks, created by blending rums aged under the Caribbean sun with those matured low and slow in Scotland s Speyside air. This unique process infuses the whisky with bold layers of candied fruit, toasted oak, and delicate spice.
First cask: Twelve years of maturation in traditional whisky casks imparts a complex character of smooth honey.
Second cask: A finishing period in casks seasoned with a bespoke rum blend adds balanced layers of tropical candied fruit and vanilla.
The result: A whisky of remarkable depth and balance. On the nose, ripe bananas, vanilla, and toffee peanut brittle lead the way. The palate reveals sun-baked dried fruits, rich malted barley, and indulgent toffee, all wrapped in a warm embrace of woody spice. The finish is long, smooth, and laced with hints of toasted oak, making for a truly memorable dram.
