Description and specs

In a bountiful twist of bramble vines, on the edge of the Scottish Highlands, sits The Glendronach Distillery. Here, the land gives its plentiful riches - this is our Ode to the Valley. Matured in a combination of ruby port casks from the Douro valley in Portugal, and our signature sherry casks, this expression presents sweet notes of floral nectar to dance in harmony with succulent ripe summer berries.

Ode to the Valley is our most alluring fruit-filled expression within The Master's Anthology: a collection of fine single malts from The Glendronach, where our Master Blender invites you to explore the breadth and depth of sherry cask maturation. Each expression pursues the exceptional in character and taste, composed to celebrate different aspects of our rich and rewarding Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

Matured in a combination of ruby port casks from the Duoro Valley in Portugal, and our signature sherry casks, this expression presents sweet notes of floral nectar to dance in harmony with succulent ripe summer berries.

Tasting Notes:

Colour: Burnished copper.

Nose: Late summer berries and chocolate de leche imbued with sweet demerara and apricot glaze.

Palate: Sip blackberry and roasted apple crumble with freshly baked gingerbread and sweet damson plum.

"This is an impressive whisky from Glendronach and one that fans of sherried single malts will really enjoy. The Ruby Port casks have also added an extra dimension to the flavour profile. It exhibits a lovely sweet, dry, fruity and nutty balance, albeit with a late peppery kick. The alcohol is superbly intergrated and the whisky drinks well at this strength." - Whisky For Everyone

"The aromas of this whisky are reminiscent of a summer fruit pie (cooked apricots, peaches, quince, plums) with a buttery crust that is cooling on a window sill open to a garden of orange blossom trees. More bright fruit grabs the palate with back notes of marzipan, tonka bean, baking spices, dried dates, and apricot. The bright medium-bodied flavor profile finishes with a buttery salinity." - Amanda Schuster, Distiller (91 Points)
